Now I have used jellyrolls, rainbows and many other types of precuts to make a few quilts over the years. It sure made it a lot easier to not have to purchase meterage of a whole range to then cut those strips! I’ve even challenged myself a few times in creating my own designs to use these strips that come looking so pretty all together.
Have you heard of Jellyroll races? Check them out on Youtube and Pinterest to see hundreds of different looking quilts and all the tips and tricks to make them from these precuts.
A standard Jelly Roll Race Quilt produces a quilt top that is approximately 50″ x 64″. It uses one 40 strip Jelly Roll Fabric collection, sewn into a single, super long strip, that is then folded in half and sew together along one edge, you cut the folded edge open and then repeat for a total of 5 seams.
