🛠️ Instructions for Use
The primary goal of these brushes is to safely remove lint and dust from areas you cannot reach with a vacuum or by hand.
- Unplug the Machine: Always unplug your sewing machine before beginning any cleaning or maintenance.
- Remove Components: Following your machine’s manual, remove the needle, presser foot, needle plate (throat plate), and the bobbin casing/hook assembly. Keep track of any small screws!
- Brush the Interior:
- Select one of the four unique brush shapes (Spherical, Pineapple, Knife, or Tower).
- Use the dense, soft silicone bristles to gently sweep and dislodge accumulated lint and dust from the feed dogs, the bobbin casing area, and other internal crevices.
- The Knife or Tower shapes are great for general sweeping, while the Spherical and Pineapple shapes excel at twisting into small holes and corners.
- Clean the Removed Parts: Use a brush to remove any lint from the underside of the needle plate and the bobbin case itself.
- Wash the Brushes: After use, wash the silicone brush head with mild soapy water to remove all trapped lint and dust. Air dry completely before storing.
- Reassemble: Put all components back into your machine in reverse order (bobbin case/hook, needle plate, presser foot, and a new needle). Optional: Refer to your machine manual for instructions on applying sewing machine oil before reassembly.
Safety Note: Never blow into the machine. This can push lint deeper into the mechanics, compacting it into a hard ‘lint plug’ that only a technician can remove. Always use tools to gently sweep the lint out.
