Blue & White quilts are my favourite - what's yours?

Hi all,

I can’t believe it is the middle of March already & I haven’t done a blog post this year showing you any new products!

I had a wonderful break at the beach in January this year – 2 whole weeks in the sun and water, with great friends next door in the caravan park. My view every year is what calms me and prepares me for the year ahead. I had some bindings to stitch whilst there & got two done out of three only.

I did manage to run a live webinar with the beautiful ocean as my backdrop whilst I was there for Intelliquilter owners that join me on IQ Summit each month. These live educational webinars are FREE to attend live – you just need to sign up to get notifications to know when to attend. This episode had nearly 170 register with over 100 showing up live to learn, chat & ask questions along the way to ensure they understood what I was showing them.

In January we made a table runner using the Intelliquilter to design all the grid patterns that were stitched.

If you missed coming LIVE then the Gridwork on IQ course is available for purchase as well for only USD $27 and includes piecing instructions, IQ designing educational videos & tips for stitching plus finishing instructions.

Whilst I was away my beautiful daughter-in-law, Sari, was my ‘office girl’ and came over every couple of days to pack, invoice and send orders made so I didn’t have to completely shut down. Considering we only have mail collected/delivered three times a week out here in rural South Australia, this works well. Sari runs her own business from home as well, so is a very busy girl.

There have been 2 shipments arrive in late January and also in February that I have now put on the website. You can see all the new items on the home page at any time, but I’d like to feature just a couple for now that you might just ‘need’ in your sewing room!

Next up is a Creative Grids ruler that will certainly make your life easier when cutting out all the units for the quilts in this book

Creative Grids Stripology Mini Quilt Ruler

Creative Grids Stripology mini quilt ruler

Creative Grids Stripology Mini Quilt Ruler, the smallest ruler in the Stripology ruler family by Gudrun Erla, has all of the features of the Stripology Squared ruler plus a few additional features you will love.

It includes markings to square up half-square triangles, quarter-square triangles, and blocks up to a 6 inch finished size. This smaller version of the Stripology Squared Ruler is easy to manipulate and makes squaring up blocks a breeze. Follow the easy-to-read markings: stars for 1 1/2 inch cuts – no math required! Turn the ruler around and use the markings on the opposite edge to cut 1/4 inch and 3/4 inch cuts. Or use the 1/8 and 3/8 inch dashed lines to cut eighth inch strips.

The ruler slides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied. Then, our exclusive gripper holds the fabric in place while cutting, eliminating slipping and miss-cuts! This ruler comes with fully illustrated step by step instructions or watch Gudrun’s video tutorial.

Total Size – 8-1/2in x 12-1/2in
Slits are 9-1/2in long

Of course I also restocked the Stripoligy XL ruler as well. This one just keeps flying off the shelf as it is so popular.

I do hope some of these items will inspire you to keep creating this month.

I know I’m very busy planning more machine quilting education for Machine Quilting Academy and quilting customer quilts. I have some personal family quilts that really need some attention as well, but that will be another post sometime…

Happy quilting

Tracey
