2 Carbon motor brushes for the A1 Elite quilting machine motor. These are NOT required for the new Platinum stitch regulator as they have a brushless motor.
NB: Regular maintenance of the brushes on your A1 Elite quilting machine is a good habit to get into.
- About every 3 months of daily use, remove the slotted plastic cover to remove a brush on either side of the motor and inspect them. Use a vacuum cleaner to suck/blow any carbon dust out of the motor.
- Once they have worn down to less than 1/2″ and the curved end is no longer shiny, then it is time to replace them.
- If you experience any black carbon dust accumulating under the motor on the top of your machine, then check immediately.
- If you experience your machine ‘popping’ or backfiring and not moving the needle up/down consistently, then check immediately.
Changing your motor brushes is NOT a regular requirement, only done when they have worn down enough to cause issues as described above. Regular maintenance will assist in the longevity of both the brushes & motor.
